Fertile Soil

Increased organic areas create healthier soil and better fertility.

The climate, biodiversity, and our water environment are in crisis, and the soil is one of our most important tools for solving it. It is in the soil that we bind CO2, and where we start our food system. It is also through fertile soil that we create livelihoods for microbes, fungi, and micro-life, which ensure robust ecosystems that can regenerate themselves. It is in the way we design our cultivation areas that we create livelihoods for wild plants, insects, and animals. And it is by the absence of synthetic pesticides and artificial fertilizers that we protect our groundwater and marine environment from encountering toxins, nitrogen, and phosphorus.
